Theatres Are The Doorway To Magic

In the entertainment industry, theatres have always been a key character in the show. It is where the stage or screen is housed. It holds the seats for the patrons. It also sells the eats and drinks that cap off the experience. No matter which type of one you visit, the reason is to be carried away on an imagination journey.

There are records of performance stages in ancient civilizations such as the Greek, Egyptian, and Asian cultures. From early human history, acting out life experiences and imaginative worlds has been present. Remnants of outdoor stages have been discovered and sometimes even preserved throughout time.

In modern culture, the entertainment industry has gone from an outdoor arena to playhouses all over the city. Live shows are performed in these halls. The shows can be simple sets with a few actors to mechanical props and musical numbers. Small towns may just have one playhouse where a big city can have a hundred or more such auditoriums.

The stage productions are even broken down a bit further by buildings. There are playhouses that just run children’s shows. Some auditoriums have shows that spotlight a particular race or sexual preference. Even the outdoor variety still exists in amphitheaters.

When the world of performing went from stage only to screen, a whole new arena opened up to the public. Movies houses are where most of modern society goes for performance entertainment. The mass production of film provided an opportunity for buildings to spring up all over the place. The public’s thirst for entertainment is satisfied by having a constant flow of movies and movie houses from which to choose.

These arenas are also divided into categories. One movie house may only show films for kids while another may limit the films another way. The outdoor version is represented in the drive-in theater where movies are watched from the car. Another specialized cinema shows movies that have had a first run at the main places, but aren’t available for home viewing yet. These places charge a fraction of the normal price of movies.

The construction is almost as varied as the types of shows. Some halls have the seats on the same level while most have a sloped floor. There are balconies in some buildings. Occasionally, in a playhouse, the stage may be in the center with the seats surrounding it. Most places that hold live shows have the stage in front of the audience with an area behind the stage for cast and crew.

Whether taking in a play or a movie, theatres provide the public with entertainment. The buildings have a place in very old societies as much as they do in modern times. There are various types of them for live shows as well as various types for film. In yet another spin on the viewing of the shows, not all of them are even constructed the same. People love to be swept up in a great story and these places provide the venue to do it.

The Famous Actors Of Karate Movies

Movies have been a popular past time in the United States and in other countries around the world since the invention of the motion picture camera. Even before sound was incorporated, movies have drawn flocks of people to theaters for a couple hours away from the real world. There are movies available to suite everyone’s taste too. Action movies, mystery movies, thrillers, science fiction, and animation are just a few examples of the choices available today. Among the myriad of movie types, Karate Movies have generated a cult like following and have made famous many actors who specialize in movies about Martial Arts.

Enter the Dragon is one of those movies you have heard of even if you have never been to see it. Another such movie is likely Karate Kid. There are two of many movies that, even if you never saw them, you recognize their names and you know they are karate movies. They are motion picture icons.

Even if you aren’t particularly fond of karate movies or maybe you just haven’t seen many of them there is no doubt you recognize the name Bruce Lee. Born in America and raised in Hong Kong, Lee returned to the United States to finish school. The son of an actor, Lee found his way into the movies and starred in many of the most famous martial arts movies such as Enter the Dragon and Fist of Fury. He was successful until his untimely death at only 32 years old. He may very well be the most popular actor in the martial arts movie category.

Chuck Norris is another actor who, while starring in a variety of movies through a storied career, and perhaps being better known by the younger generations for his work advertising home gyms, made a name for himself as a featured performer in Karate Movies. Chuck was born in Ryan, Oklahoma and served in the United States Air Force before appearing in his first movie in 1969 and getting his first starring role in 1977. Films such as An Eye for An Eye and The Way of the Dragon, in which he performed as Bruce Lee’s nemesis, along with other roles, each featuring his abilities in Martial Arts, made Chuck Norris a name recognized around the world.

Although he is not a new comer, having been in the movies in America since the 1970′s, Jackie Chan is another actor who has made his mark with his acrobatic style of karate as well as his comedic timing. Jackie’s major breakthrough movie called Snake in the Eagles Shadow, was released in 1978 and is widely considered to be the movie that established the comedic kung fu style.

Each of these famous actors helped to create the karate movie genre, and each would likely be far less famous, if famous at all, with the success of movies that feature martial arts.

Other movies and television shows, while not necessarily considered to be Karate Movies, feature martial arts in a prominent way, and as a result deserve mention. The Matrix movies are a prime example and would have been far less successful without the heavy use of martial arts.

Karate movies have a cult like following that promises to keep them coming for years, and the movie going people of the world will continue to show up.
